If you're doing carnivore and not getting results, you're probably missing the most important piece. Step #1 is simple: eat meat.
That gets you zero carbs fast and kickstarts you into ketosis. Here's the trap. Most people stop there. They eat only steak or ground beef and they ignore the real secret to success. To heal with carnivore, you need to eat fat, a lot of it. Fat isn't optional, it's therapeutic. Without enough fat, you won't make ketones, and without ketones you will not trigger autophagy, which is your body's repair system. That means 70 to 80% of your calories should be coming from fat. Think oxtail, or duck with skin on it, sausage, pork bellies, sardines in olive oil. Butter, lard? Yes, they keep ketones circulating, and that's where the magic happens. And don't forget salt. Ketosis dumps sodium without replacing it, and you'll crash. I even put salt in my coffee. But the bottom line is carnivore isn't just cutting carbs, it's about fueling ketosis, and that means that means fat first
