Celery

According to Dr. Arthur De Vany, celery raises testosterone levels . . . in men and women.  Men, eat more celery.

Purpose of Exercise?

"Purpose of exercise is to alter your metabolism, not to burn calories.  Pleasure of life is the energy you spend; not trying to restrict your caloric intake or burn up the calories you've taken in.  Afterall, that's just time in the gym; that's not life."  Arthur De Vany

Foods That Rob Strength Versus Foods That Build Strength

Foods That Rob Strength:
1.   Soy
2.   High Fructose Corn Syrup
3.   Corn, Corn Starch, Corn Oil, Corn Chips, Modified Corn Starch, Corn Meal, Corn Syrup.  Are you beginning to see a corny pattern here?  The Corn industry has infiltrated the food supply, and I don't use that term "infiltrated" lightly.
4.   I like coffee.  I like the smell and I like the taste.  Follow your gut with coffee.  Continue being cognizant of your alkaline/acidic balance.

Foods That Build Strength:
1.   Olive Oil
2.   Brocolli
3.   Spinach
4.   Kale
5.   Leeks
6.   Lean meats: white meat chicken, turkey, and fatty fish--sardines, salmon, mackerel.
7.   Cheeses: cottage cheese, goat cheese, and others.
8.   Plain yogurt

Cancer-killing nutrients in vegetables & spices:
Raw Carrots (alpha carotene, beta carotene, Vitamin E)
       Raw Broccoli (sulforaphanes/isothiocyanates)
       Raw cabbage (isothiocyanates)
       Green Asparagus (saponins)
Beet root/red beets (proanthocyanidins or PAC's)
       Turmeric (curcurmin)

Dr. Johanna Budwig Diet

Dr. Johanna Budwig's Diet looks interesting precisely because of its simplicity.

Dr.Johanna Budwig Mix:

Put the following foods in your blender:

1.   1 cup of Organic, low-fat cottage cheese (not too hard; best to make your own).  You may use yogurt as a substitute.
2.   2 to 5 Tablespoons of flaxseeed oil.
3.   1 to 3 Tablespoons of freshly ground up flaxseed.  A $15 coffee grinder works fine.
4.   Add a little water to soften it.
5.   Sprinkle a little cayenne.
And that's it.

B-17 as a Cancer Prevention?

B-17, or apricot seeds, has been found to prevent cancer.   Read how and why here.

Also, here is G. Edward Griffin talking about how B-17 fights cancer.  Griffin mentions a friendship with John Richardon.  Richardson's son, Charles, owns and operates ApricotPower where you can purchase apricot seeds or bitter almonds that contain B-17.  His website is here.  Enjoy.

Reading G. Edward Griffin's World Without Cancer is enlightening and encouraging, a big part of fighting illness.

The Miracle of Vitamin C: It Treats Serious Cases of Swine Flu

Here is video proof positive of how Vitamin C saved Auckland, New Zealand, dairy farmer, Alan Smith's life.  And here is the legal review of how the family's wishes were denied because the hospital violated the patient's code.  The man developed a bad case of pneumonia, known as "White-out Pneumonia." The man's lungs were so full of infected fluids that he was unable to take in any air, so the doctors at the hospital put him on a respirator.  His doctors called it "lung failure."
This is a terrific interview of Dr. Ronald Hunninghake on the use of intravenous Vitamin C as a cancer therapy.
Bill Sardi argues convincingly that the use of aspirin depletes Vitamin C stores in the body.

So the question is what form of Vitamin C does one take and how much?

There are a few choices:
1)  Ascorbic Acid, which works just fine in killing viruses and bacteria.
2)  Fruits and vegetables with Vitamin C, but you may need more given a certain condition.  For example, I don't know if Mr. Alan Smith would have recovered from his pneumonia had he eaten oranges with their high sugar content.  Would the sugar of the oranges exacerbated his pnuemonia, the fluid in his lungs, and diminished the air pocket capability?  I doubt it.  I think that an orange would have helped.  But remember, Alan Smith received 25grams of intravenous Vitamin C.  That's a lot of Vitamin C; that is an emergency amount.
3)  Capsules of Buffered Vitamin C with a full panel of bioflavonoids.
4)  Highly-absorbably form of Vitamin C, called Lipo-Spheric Vitamin C, bypasses the gastric juices of your stomach and goes directly into your blood stream through the vessels in your mouth.

I like ascorbic acid.

But for critically-ill patients, IV Vitamin C is essential.  Check this out:
These three studies showed reduced mortality and reduced time on ventilators for septic and critically ill  patients in the ICU setting.  In addition, numerous other studies have measured blood vitamin C levels in critically ill patients in the hospital showing Vitamin C is typically depleted with levels below 25 % of healthy individuals.(6-11)  As Dr Levy points out in Part Four of the Series (see below), there are thousands of studies over 70 years in the medical literature showing effectiveness, and safety of Vitamin C for viral illness.  Dr Levy’s book, Curing the Incurable: Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, and Toxins, 3rd Editionhttp://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=jeffreydachmd-20&l=as2&o=1&a=0977952029 cites 1200 such articles supporting the use of Vitamin C.
Last but not least, I found this list of conditions that Vitamin C cures.  That's right--cures.  Check it out.

VITAMIN C HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CURE OVER 30 MAJOR DISEASES FOR OVER 50 YEARS.  Click here to find out which ones.

BAKING SODA TONES KIDNEYS & SHRINKS TUMORS

Baking Soda Tones Kidney & Shrinks Tumors

A nurse friend of mine recommended using baking soda to make the blood a little more alkaline than acidic.  I tried it: one teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water.  The muscles in my legs relaxed.  Did the baking soda relieve the build-up of lactic acid in the muscles from running earlier in the day?  I do know that I felt better.  The recommendation with baking soda is once or twice per week.  Here is a pretty good article that supports the use of baking soda for kidney ailments.

Baking soda, according to Mike Adams of Natural News, shrinks tumors in ". . . the throat, colon, intestines and rectal area, and when compared with the exorbitant costs of chemo and radiation, the baking soda cure weighs in at around $3."  A teaspoon a week is preventative medicine.  A daily dose is a curative regimen.  This is an important read, and baking soda is an important healthy remedy.

Cranberry juice, not Oceanspray cranberry juice cocktail with all that sugar, is also a good kidney tonic.  Lemonade achieves similar results.

UPDATE, January 3, 2015
I've tried baking soda.  But on the vital organs like kidneys, liver, and intestines, I like the combination of lemon juice, olive oil, and a touch of honey.

Fighting Fatigue?

Try raw honey.  It vitalizes and has, get this, anti-bacterial functions.  Amazing.  Honey!  And if you use raw honey, the glycemic index is lower than pasteurized, refined honey.  Enjoy getting well.  Here is a link to honey benefits, particularly the benefits of honey mixed with apple cider vinegar.

Honey and bee by-products do provide energy.  Look at all of the bee products that you find in a health food store: bee pollen, Royal Jelly, honey, propolis, and others.  Here are other benefits of honey.  Sweet.

Want to Make a Healthy, Tasty Snack?

Take a half a cup of plain yogurt.  Cut up half a Granny Smith apple and add it to the yogurt.  Sprinkle turmeric over the yogurt and cut-up apple.  Top with a few walnuts.  It is a fantastic snack.  It also works to revive your intestines after a cleanse, if that is what you're looking for.

COMPRESSION HOSE MAY REDUCE EDEMA

Want to increase circulation in your lower legs?

Want to get rid of edema?

Try elastic compression socks.  They work.

Elastic support hose reduce edema and increase blood circulation in your lower legs.  The hose work better than herbal remedies for the same problem, like Horse Chestnut or Gingko Biloba.  Compression hose are to be worn during the day; remove them at night before you shower and get ready for bed.  Depending upon your condition and the age of your condition, you may want to wear it daily for 2 to 3 maybe 4 weeks or longer.  Observe how the edema dissipates and assess how the energy in your legs elevates.  Once you begin to feel better, then you know that you don't need the compression hose.  How it works is that as you wear the hose over time, your body will adjust to the new blood pressures on your veins, which uptake the instruction and pump blood through your veins more efficiently.  That claim is not EPA approved.  After one week of wearing the hose, the sluggishness in my legs was lifted, which allowed for the circulation in my legs to improve.  I have more energy in my lower extremities.  I rise from a seat with greater strength, energy, and steadiness.  My step is more energetic, more controlled.  I prefer the support hose over nutritional supplements for the same condition.  I don't like all of the side effects of supplements.  I found the following presentation interesting.

For restless leg syndrome, vitamin D I've read works quite well.  Also, consider some nutritional foods like sauerkraut and kimchi.  These are refreshing and can have a detox effect on your lower leg where the drainage valves of your lymphatic system connect your legs to your digestive tract.  Look to zinc too.  I just had to quote Bill Sardi's comment from the Fight Aging site:
"The Holy Grail of gerontology?" "Our dream is to bring back the thymus..." What drivel. What misdirection. More of the "we will come up with some high-tech cure and make ourselves rich" stuff. What a display of ignorance. There is a 10-cent cure for thymic involution (atrophy) with advancing age ---- zinc and its absorption agent vitamin B6 and its release agent selenium. This has been demonstrated in animals and humans. Zinc activates T-cells, in particular T-memory cells that confer long-term immunity. By the way, animal-source thymus gland extract is also available. Modern medicine replaces insulin, testosterone, estrogen, thyroid hormone, but fails to replace thymus gland hormones, leaving the old to die off on time for the life insurance companies. Allow me to throw a tomato.
