Why teen takeovers? For years, we’ve been told that the reason that blacks are overrepresented in the juvenile justice system and in school discipline cases is racism. The Obama and Biden Justice Departments sued school districts for civil rights violations if they disciplined black students at higher rates than white students.

The reality: These allegedly docile, well-behaved youth commit homicide at 10 times the rate of whites. The same lack of socialization that produces astronomical rates of black gun violence results in insubordinate behavior in school. The schools are not racist; the students are out of control. But the lack of consequences breeds more lawless behavior and the excuse-making continues.
