WILL TANNER: A good reminder that the Bible describes mass migration of such sorts as judgement from above, like a plague of locusts

Plenty of Americans, I mean Americans whose parents fought or were conscripted into WWII, view migrants ["alien" is the correct legal term] and immigration as a boon, a benefit rather than a destructive force in society.  Have they forgotten the pre-globalism days of small, local institutions carrying the load of social services along with the church?  Have they forgotten about that?  It just seems that too many Americans suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, where we try to please and bend over backwards with our captors.  Nils Johan Artur Bejerot, 1921–1988, a Swedish psychiatrist and criminologist, coined the term, Stockholm Syndrome

Nils Johan Artur Bejerot (1921–1988) was a Swedish psychiatrist and criminologist renowned for his empirical research on drug addiction as a preventable behavioral epidemic driven by social contagion rather than inevitable disease. Graduating with an MD from the Karolinska Institute in 1957 and earning a doctorate in 1974, he served as consulting psychiatrist to the Stockholm Police Department from 1958 to 1988, where he analyzed patterns of abuse among criminals and developed epidemiological models emphasizing demand reduction through strict societal controls.
