Why does Mamdani overlook, ignore, otherwise omit Italians from New York's or America's history? Is it because Catholicism is the one religion that would at any moment go to war against Muslims?
New York’s mayor salutes an old Stalinist to avoid recognizing Columbus. “Continuing to fight for Vito Marcantonio’s vision” = Communism.

Remember this attack back in early July?
Mamdani's "team" forgot to include historic
neighborhoods, like Little Italy, Irish and Jewish nabes but he certainly found time and room on the map for nabes like Little Palestine in Bay Ridge, Little Egypt in Astoria, Little Senegal, Little Pakistan, and other Middle East neighborhoods.
Little Italy, the historic one in Manhattan on Mulberry Street, Irish neighborhoods like Woodlawn in the Bronx and Woodside/Sunnyside in Queens, and Jewish neighborhoods like Borough Park Brooklyn, the Sephardi areas of South Brooklyn, and the Bukharian community in Queens--Rego Park/Forest Hills/Kew Gardens. Mamdani left out these “New York City Immigrant Enclaves” in a map released by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs as part of a Neighborhood Passport tourism campaign tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It highlighted about 30 enclaves, including Little Palestine in Bay Ridge, Little Egypt in Astoria, Little Senegal, Little Pakistan, multiple Chinatowns, Little Poland, but omitted classic European-origin ones associated with groups that historically helped build the city.

Italian: Most notably Little Italy in Lower Manhattan, Belmont in the Bronx, Bensonhurst/Dyker Heights in Brooklyn, were also omitted. Mamdani later said the map, which his team claimed was based on prior work and updated with Little Odessa, Little Senegal, Little Egypt, and Little Palestine, was not exhaustive and that Little Italy would be added.
Irish: Neighborhoods such as Woodlawn in the Bronx and Woodside, or Sunnyside, in Queens.
Jewish: Borough Park is large Orthodox community, Sephardi corridors in South Brooklyn, and Bukharian Jewish in Queens. Little Odessa, Brighton Beach, with a substantial Jewish population, often Russian/Soviet Jewish, was one of the additions noted by the administration.
