DR. ANTHONY CHAFFEE: A McDonald's meal is nearly vegan.

The processed food industry is a plant-based industry.  We think of processed foods and oh McDonald's and fatty me. A McDonald's meal is nearly vegan.  That's weird for people to think about but if you do think about it, like a Whopper, for example, you've got a single meat patty, you've got lettuce, tomato, seed oil-filled mayonnaise, you've got a bun, you've got sugary sauces, and then you've got French Fries deep fried in a seed oils, then you've got a sugary drink.  Probably around 90% are those calories are from plants.  The definition of a hyper carnivore: over 70% calories from meat, you're a hyper carnivore.  So Big Mac Meal, McDonald's Meal, whatever, that's over 70%. That's a hyper vegetarian meal.  You can't say that processed meats in all that sort of stuff.  It's the plants.
