The word "Democracy" is not in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States....Comrade. Federalist 10 explicitly states they created the Constitution to prevent a Democracy from forming..... Article 4 Section 4 of the United States Consitution: The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence. But you know who does use Democracy, a lot. Lenin.

@EdwardPentin @HolySeePress The United States is not a democracy. It's a Republic. It matters.

"Protecting our constitutional democracy." What are you defending again? According to the Constitution, the United States is a Republic. The Federalist Papers make clear that the Constitution was drafted to keep it from ever devolving into a democracy. So, underline the doubling down on "democracy" twice, and note that whatever they're defending is NOT the Republic ensconced in the US Constitution they took oaths to "support and defend".

Plato would have said that democracies are a degrading form of government associated with revolutionary upheaval that sets the stage for the worst form of governance: tyranny, or, in modern parlance, vanguards of the proletariat. Aristotle would have said that democracies are debased forms of republic. The framers of the US Constitution agreed. So, why does the GOPe insist on suppressing the term "republic" and promote the term "democracy"? The answer lies somewhere between being either a controlled opposition or the non-violent main actors in a dialectical churn that pivots off of constructed violent splinters.
