Maui Police Chief John Pelletier has selected a colleague from Las Vegas, Charles Hank, as his Deputy Chief.

Both men worked in the Las Vegas Police Department during the October 2017 Las Vegas shooting.  So they're either used to running disaster scenarios and or managing their coverup.
