So in 1965, they passed an Act that switched America's immigration from majority European to majority Hispanic from Mexico.  Within just 50 years, America went from around 90% white of European descent to 60%.  And even if we stop immigration completely, right now, by 2045, European Americans will still become the absolute minority in America.  The Left realized that foreign-born Hispanics vote around 80% for the Left.  So they started a campaign to call the immigration policy we had pre-1965 "racist" and "discriminatory."  

There was a feeling in Congress that that same notion of ending discrimination should also be applied to US immigration policy up until 1965 US immigration policy was heavily biased in favor of Europeans.

Senator Ted Kennedy who played a major role in helping pass the 1965 Immigration Act promised in a speech that, "the passing of this bill won't change America or cause Americans to lose their jobs."  

He said in the Floor speech, 1965,

Out of deference to the critics, I want to comment on what the bill will not do. First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually.  Under the proposed Bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same.  Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.  Contrary to the charges in some quarters, the Bill will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area or the most populated and economically deprived nations.  In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as some critics seem to think.  Thirdly, the bill will not permit the entry of subversive persons, criminals, illiterates, or those with contagious disease or serious mental illness.  As I noted moments ago, no immigrant visa will be issued to a person who is likely to become a public charge.  

Every single thing that Ted Kennedy promised would not happen in the passage of the 1965 Hart-Celler Act did, in fact, happen.  We were, in fact, flooded with a million immigrants annually. The ethnic mix of this country was upset.  America is, in fact, being inundated with immigrants every single year from one particular country, mostly that being Mexico.  And we are, in fact, accepting immigrants from economically deprived nations, such as Africa, Asia, Mexico, El Salvador, Haiti. And when he promised along with others that the Bill would not permit the entry of subversive persons, criminals, illiterates, or those with contagious diseases, obviously, that was a lie as well . . . especially the subversive persons.

By the way, Ted Kennedy also had Reagan's back in 1986, 

1986: “This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.” 

1963 is beginning to make a little more sense.

America's current mass immigration mess is the result of a change in the laws in 1965. Prior to 1965, despite some changes in the 50's, America was a low-immigration country basically living under immigration laws written in 1924. Thanks to low immigration, the swamp of cheap labor was largely drained during this period, America became a fundamentally middle-class society, and our many European ethnic groups were brought together into a common national culture. In some ways, this achievement was so complete that we started to take for granted what we had achieved and forgot why it happened. So in a spasm of sentimentality on the Right and lies on the Left, we opened the borders.

Born of liberal ideology, the 1965 bill abolished the national origins quota system that had regulated the ethnic composition of immigration in fair proportion to each group's existing presence in the population. In a misguided application spirit of the civil rights era, the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations saw these ethnic quotas as an archaic form of chauvinism. Moreover, as Cold Warriors facing charges of "racism" and "imperialism," they found the system rhetorically embarrassing. The record of debate over this seismic change in immigration policy reveals that left-wingers, in their visceral flight to attack "discrimination," did not reveal the consequences of their convictions. Instead, their spokesmen set out to assuage concerned traditionalists with a litany of lies and wishful thinking. 

Chief among national concerns was total numeric immigration. Senate floor manager and Camelot knight-errant Ted Kennedy, D-Massachusetts, assured jittery senators that “our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually.” Senator Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, further calmed that august body, insisting “the total number of potential immigrants would not be changed very much.” Time has proven otherwise. Average immigration levels before the 1965 amendments took effect hovered around 300,000 per annum. Yet 1,045,000 legal immigrants flooded our cities in 1996 alone.

RFK Critical of Welfare?

Good to hear that RFK was critical of welfare, saying how it demeans the spirit.  But on jobs, he sounded a bit weak, saying in one interview that people needs jobs instead of welfare but not dead-end jobs.  But dead-end jobs people can still pick up skills, figure out how to service customers, adopt some social skills that you never could while you were in school.  The irony here is that he sounds like he opposes his brother, Ted Kennedy, co-author of the 1965 Immigration Act that opened the flood gates from South and Latin America.  If he's opposing welfare, he must oppose immigration welfare. And he's clearly opposing LBJ's Great Society too with his criticism of welfare.  Interesting.

Why do Americans continually listen to these self-anointed electoral pundits in the media (who speak in the name of “everyone” ) when they have such a miserable track record on predicting the campaign viability of presidential candidates.

Look up the historical factual data for yourself on these past races.

In 1972 “everyone” early on predicted Edmund Muskie was the cinch Democratic candidate until the melting snow on his face incident outside the NH Union Leader building in a snow storm where “everyone” reported he was crying; Later the Watergate break-in caused the most serious electoral scandal and disruption of politics in American history. Yet Nixon went on to defeat George McGovern in the most decisive victory carrying 49-1 states.

In 1976, dark horse Georgia governor and Trilateral Commission candidate Jimmy Carter astounded the pundits with his acceleration in the primaries due to massive coverage from the establishment media (while those in the know knew that the “fix” had been on from the beginning for Jimmy);

In 1980, “everyone” early on predicted GOP candidate John Connolly and Democrat Ted Kennedy were the sure things;

In 1984 Democratic candidate Gary “Where’s the Beef?” Hart was the sure thing;

In 1988 Democrat Gary Hart was again the sure thing until that “Monkey Business;”

In 1992 “everyone” was eyeing Democrat Jerry Brown;

In 1996 lackluster GOP Bob Dole challenged incumbent Democrat Bill Clinton (the “fix” was on for Dole to take a fall) and take down the 1994 congressional insurgents elected by promoting the Contract on America opposed by the GOP party elite;

In 2000 “everyone” was touting GOP maverick John McCain;

For most of 2003, insurgent antiwar Democrat Howard Dean had been the apparent front-runner for the 2004 nomination, performing strongly in most polls and leading the pack in fund-raising. Then over a span of a few days his candidacy was destroyed by the most intense mainstream media barrage in history, constantly re-airing the “Dean Scream” leaving John Kerry as the establishment’s anointed;

In 2008, “everyone” early on asserted Rudy Giuliani was the sure thing for the GOP, while Democrat front runner Hillary Clinton was upended by the unknown dark-horse Barack Obama.

In 2012, Ron Paul, the GOP candidate with the largest grass-roots base of enthusiastic supporters and the most phenomenal online campaign funding abilities in history in raising millions in his celebrated “money bombs,” was sabotaged in state after state and destroyed by the GOP elite who hated, feared, and loathed his insurgent candidacy, placing the lackluster corporatist Mitt Romney as the nominee.

In 2016 “everyone” got the Trump insurgent candidacy wrong from almost the get-go.

In 2020 after years of relentless and entirely baseless Russiangate collusion charges and allegations Donald Trump had the presidential election stolen from him by a feckless feeble degenerate who cowered and hid in his basement yet received the largest purported vote totals in American history.

To those know-it-all pundits who say Trump and the GOP are finished and that the insurgent RFK Jr. has no path to victory had better hold fast on their premature predictions.

In these wildly unpredictable times with major unforeseen events and “black swans” appearing almost daily, such Nostradamus punditry is bullshit.

26:00  The other character was Sheriff Joe Lombardo from Clark County who said that it had to be multiple shooters, and by the next day, he said it was a single shooter.  That turns out to be the property of all the mass shootings, the mass killings where the guy on the street, right on the spot, tells the story about multiple shooters, by the next day it's one drug-addled teenager.

Odd, because he sounds quite versed in managing narratives surrounding controversial investigations.  But who am I to take note of an unusual narrative style?

They've been tied to the Oklahoma City bomber.  They've been tied to Ted Kazinski.  I don't think that Kazinski was a failure of the program.  I think he was an experiment.  

Even famous people, David French, Tucker Carlson, and Ann Coulter were all calling baloney it, saying there is something so wrong with this story.  How the guy got 23 sophisticated killing machines that were not the kind "could buy from Walmart into his hotel room, supposed he was there for 3 or 4 days.  Steve Wynn said there was no chance you can let a guy have weapons in his room for three or four days because the would never leave a hotel room unintended.  You can put "Do Not Disturb" all you want, but they're going to peak in that room.  Because, you know, rotting carcasses are not good for business.  So they will not let a room be attended and unchecked on for 4 days.

Califf was FDA head under Obama back in 2015. The American Thinker does a good job of taking down Califf's background, but it's precisely the background that the deep state loves: therefore, he'll be appointed.

COVID has revealed that the FDA, the CDC, Fauci, the White House, and “science” are at odds with each other. The FDA desperately needs major reform and transparency surrounding hiring, drug safety, and new drug approvals. As commissioner under Obama, Califf made few or no noteworthy changes to the FDA and shows no signs of improving the record if re-appointed.

Califf arrived at the FDA in 2015 determined to modernize how the agency reviewed drug and device study data, but there is little evidence he achieved that goal:

• When he learned that Obama had proposed him as commissioner, Califf removed his name from scientific articles he had written. Even if they were controversial and assuming they were truthful, he should have stuck by them. America needs an FDA commissioner who will stick to evidence-based science, even in the face of controversy.
• Dr. Califf currently works full-time for Google’s “Alphabet” company (Google being the most evil company in the world, according to Ted Cruz). In 2019, he became head of medical strategy at Google parent company Alphabet Inc.

Dr. Califf in Bed With Big Pharma:

• Dr. Califf has deeper ties to the pharmaceutical industry than any FDA commissioner in recent memory, and he lacks a public health background.
• Dr. Califf founded the Duke Clinical Research Institute, which runs research trials for pharmaceutical companies and today has more than 1,200 employees.
• At Duke, Dr. Califf actively solicited funding from Big Pharma and no record exists of Dr. Califf ever saying “no” to any pharmaceutical company that offered him money. America needs an unbiased, science-based commissioner without these conflicts, and someone who can stand up to Big Pharma and say “no.” Some of the drug companies he accepted money from have FDA violations and questionable or even upsetting behaviors when it comes to their claims and when it comes to their safety /regulatory records.
• Hillary Clinton and the Clinton foundation have been heavily criticized for doing the same thing. She solicited significant donations as Secretary of State from anyone and everyone. Some of the countries from which Hillary Clinton accepted donations have appalling human rights records and even ties to terrorism. The Republicans threw a fit about Clinton but they didn’t seem to care about the appointment of Califf the first time around and haven’t yet raised these issues since his second appointment was proposed.
• Bernie Sanders is opposed to Califf’s appointment because of his Big Pharma ties.
• More than half (~63%) of Califf’s $320 million funding at Duke came from Big Pharma and has had decades-long ties to almost every big pharma company.
• He has served as a paid consultant with (1) Merck Sharp & Dohme, (2) Johnson & Johnson, (3) GlaxoSmithKline, (4) AstraZeneca, (5) Eli Lilly (6) Amgen, (7) F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG, (8) Janssen Pharmaceutica, (9) Daiichi Sankyo, (10) Sanofi-Aventis, (11) Bristol-Myers Squibb, (12) Proventys, Inc, (13) Regado Biosciences, Inc, and (14) Corgentech Inc. (15) Genentech
• Forbes wrote that his close ties to the drug industry were the reason for him not being nominated for the FDA Commissioner position in 2009.
• Due to Califf’s big pharma conflicts, he would be unable to serve on an FDA advisory committee, yet democrats are proposing Calif for a third tour of duty at the FDA, where he previously served as the deputy commissioner and then the commissioner.
