Remineralize your teeth with magnesium, D, and A. Dump the Xylitol

For years I'd been looking for just the right treatment for healthy teeth. I initially thought that fluoride-free toothpaste was a good place to start, so I used that for a few years only to find years later a couple if cracked teeth and loose fillings that fell out.  I don't know that I am in a better position today, but I think I am.  One product I'd read about early on was Xylitol, a sugar-free substitute that also fought oral bacteria to keep cavities to a minimum.  So I began chewing Xylitol gum.  It was refreshing but, truth be told, I really didn't like the funny film it left in my mouth and on my teeth.  I began the Xylitol on the recommendations of Dr. Ellie Phillips.  But the problem with focusing on just your mouth or just your teeth is that you ignore the connection that the biome in your mouth has with the biome of your digestive tract, of which your mouth is just the beginning.  So I stopped consuming the Xylitol after a week but saw it advertised everywhere and included in all mints, gums, and more, which I assume he was eating on behalf of a score of others throughout the day.  It wasn't until I saw this that it confirmed my concerns.  Though the target audience is dogs, it is also directed at dog owners:

The guy who really came to my rescue was Bill Sardi, who the world lost recently.  He was such a loving, careful, but fearless guide.  With his "34 Ways to Stay Healthy," Bill pointed me to Dr. Carolyn Dean, MD, ND. who recommends brushing your teeth with magnesium.  I'd had other conversations will Sardi regarding teeth.  No one was more helpful than Bill.  It was like having your own private doctor whom you could get a reply to any health-related question you had. And he was a workhorse.  Writing articles for publication at LewRockwell, conducting interviews with Martie Whittekin at HBN, doing hours of strenuous research online, and then answering everybody's emails.  I loved him, and I miss him.  

Last year, I asked him, "What can I take to keep more teeth in my head?  Thank you."  His reply was, "Boost testosterone.  12mg boron," then added not one but two articles linked in the email. Just amazed that he would go to such effort to help me, which I presume he was doing with a score of others throughout the day.  A true Christian man.  What's interesting is that I had considered boron a tooth enamel supplement but was waved off that conclusion a year earlier by someone else.

The pituitary releases hormones throughout the endocrine system to ensure physiological functions in our body; the pineal gland is mostly responsible for producing melatonin.

ABSTRACT

The present study was carried out to investigate if ethanol alters the aromatization of androgens and concentrations of hepatic estrogen and androgen receptors. Hepatic aromatization of androgen to estrogen was significantly increased by ethanol administration. There was a significant increase in serum estrogen level but a decreased circulating testosterone level in alcohol-fed rats. Furthermore, the concentration of estrogen receptors in liver cytosol was significantly higher in alcohol-fed rats (37 +/- 5.3 fmol/mg protein), as compared to the intact control value (21 +/- 4.8 fmol/mg protein). However, hepatic androgen receptor levels were much lower (4.4 +/- 0.5) in alcohol-fed rats than those (10.2 +/- 1.4 fmol/mg protein) in control animals. Similarly, castration increased hepatic aromatization of androgens and concentrations of serum estrogen and hepatic estrogen receptors, but it decreased the contents of circulating androgen and hepatic androgen receptors. These findings indicate that alcohol administration is considered a chemical form of castration, altering the hepatic steroid metabolism and sex hormone receptor contents and contributing to the pathogenesis of feminization. A combination of alcohol-feeding and castration has no synergistic effect on the hepatic steroid receptors and aromatization, but this combination does have a more profound effect in lowering the concentration of circulating androgen.

Here are some foods that raise, or increase, your androgen receptors.  First, knock off the alcohol except for the occasional celebration of personal milestones.  Don't get me wrong.  I love red wine. Would drink it regularly if didn't have all the nasty side effects on the brain and liver.  Those side effects can make a person irritable and grumpy the next day for which you'll need plenty of coffee the next morning to revive yourself.  But alcohol and coffee both deplete your vitamin B stores.  In fact, these beverages are referred to as B blockers because they block the absorption of vitamin B into your tissues.  Because alcohol does have nasty effects on hormones even tissues, I abstained long ago, decades now.  I was always considered a lightweight when friends, relatives, and acquaintances had no problem putting away excessive amounts.  

Coffee does have benefits but too much can drain the brain of B vitamins and deplete the pituitary gland [A MAJOR PLAYER IN YOUR ENDOCRINE SYSTEM, sometimes called "the master gland"] hormones

Which hormones does the pituitary gland make?
The anterior lobe of your pituitary gland makes and releases the following hormones:
Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH or corticotrophin): ACTH plays a role in how your body responds to stress. It stimulates your adrenal glands to produce cortisol (the “stress hormone”), which has many functions, including regulating metabolism, maintaining blood pressure, regulating blood glucose (blood sugar) levels and reducing inflammation, among others.
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH): FSH stimulates sperm production in people assigned male at birth. FSH stimulates the ovaries to produce estrogen and plays a role in egg development in people assigned female at birth. This is known as a gonadotrophic hormone.
Growth hormone (GH): In children, growth hormone stimulates growth. In other words, it helps children grow taller. In adults, growth hormone helps maintain healthy muscles and bones and impacts fat distribution. GH also impacts your metabolism (how your body turns the food you eat into energy).
Look at how these idiots describe biological functions.  Science is corrupted.  F**k these compliant bureaucrats.  "assigned"?  
Luteinizing hormone (LH): LH stimulates ovulation in people assigned female at birth and testosterone production in people assigned male at birth. LH is also known as a gonadotrophic hormone because of the role it plays in controlling the function of the ovaries and testes, known as the gonads.
Prolactin: Prolactin stimulates breast milk production (lactation) after giving birth. It can affect fertility and sexual functions in adults.
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH): TSH stimulates your thyroid to produce thyroid hormones that manage your metabolism, energy levels, and your nervous system.

But we all want a simplified life. In that case, ignore everything I've said or printed here, and go on about your business.  But if you want to maintain a high level of productivity long into your years, then be vigilant on bodily processes that deliver on productivity.   To keep your pituitary gland functioning at peak levels as you continue drinking coffee, then it would help, help a lot, to be consuming boron.  

The difference between the Pituitary Gland and the Pineal Gland is that the pituitary releases hormones throughout the endocrine system to ensure physiological functions in our body, whereas the pineal gland is mostly responsible for producing melatonin.  People take melatonin supplements to keep the pineal gland producing melatonin.  Boron helps to keep that organ regulated.  Pineal gland is not just for melatonin.  It's also responsible for critical thinking.  For the Pituitary gland, eat red meat, get sunlight at peak hours, 11-2, get Omega-3s through fish oil, and supplement with vitamin D.

SUPPLEMENTAL MAGNESIUM IS CRITICAL FOR DIABETICS

Here I review Bill Sardi's article, "On Controlling Diabetes Free of Prescription Drugs."

It is amazing to me how helpless those with diabetes talk about their condition.  It used to be called a disease.  Now it's just a metabolic condition.

It can certainly become a disease.  But without a glitch each person I know who has it treats it as though it is a life sentence handed down to them from their genetic make-up by claiming that "My mother had it, my father had it, and my grandmother had it."  No doubt.  



So what I hear is a surrender to a condition that they believe the primary cause is genetic and not food or diet related.  And it certainly is difficult to see the faults in eating habits when you've lived those habits your whole life.  I should know . . . though thankfully I've not yet been diagnosed with diabetes.  By the time we're adults, I would think that most people should the know the error of their ways and jettison breakfast cereals and soda pop.  Many adults who survived the onslaught of a sugary diet from childhood celebrate the survival of childhood excesses by announcing "Oh, I ate four bowls of Captain Crunch" or "I downed 5 bowls of Coco Puffs before I drank a 6 pack of Cherry Cola.  Just the thought now of those soda binges wears me out.  Two, high-energy adults I've worked with have both been addicted to Diet-Pepsi.  I mean a 6-pack a day.  I could only shake my head at what that HFCS was doing to their hormones.  iSe la vie! 
But here again, it's Bill Sardi who lays out a new way of seeing old problems.  He's not simply pulling these assessments out of a hat but he cites research after research, collating data to demonstrate that a lot of the medical assumptions that have reached the popular culture are just wrong.  With regards to diabetes, not completely wrong, but wrong as to the causes.  The cause is the overconsumption of sugar in all of its forms.  Bill Sardi takes it apart, starting with almost a comical scene--a meeting in which the nation's largest food companies were asked to "share" some of the responsibility.  I laugh because when I emailed Pederson's bacon about their use of soy as feed for the pigs, I got a reply that went like this "If we told you, we'd have to kill you."  That was their attempt at a joke, of course, a Customer Service joke.  Ha, ha.  But one has to ask--Should customer service be joking like that?  So, I turn to honest, direct and ethical men like Bill Sardi.  He starts
At a 1999 conclave, executives of the nation’s biggest food companies walked out on a meeting that attempted to get them to share some of the responsibility for the then growing diabesity epidemic.  [New York Times Feb 20, 2013]  With sugarized bacon, ketchup, peanut butter, wrapped meats, salad dressings and processed foods dominating grocery store shelves, shockingly half the nation now is diabetic or pre-diabetic.  [LA Times Sept 8, 2015; Journal American Medical Assn. Sept 8, 2015] 
That's about right.  I couldn't imagine anything good coming from this meeting either.  Absolutely--high blood sugar levels are the causes of diabetes.  The answer then is to bring down the high blood sugar levels by removing from one's diet those foods that cause it to soar, regardless if they are traditional foods of your culture.  
Pre-diabetes means that your blood sugar level is higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as adult-onset (type II) diabetes and you have not developed symptoms yet (eyes, kidneys, heart, pancreas).  You are more likely to develop full-blown diabetes within 2 to 10 years. What I find interesting is that the theory of a disease is driven in part, perhaps in large part, by a pharmaceutical monopoly on the medicines that treat specific diseases put forth by institutions funded by the companies providing the antidote.  Wow!  Does that ever sound conspiratorial.  But it is mainly just folks jimmying with the free market.  Instead of allowing the customer or patient to find his own cure, conglommerants put enough safeguards in place so as to ensure a higher percentage of patients purchasing their prescription.  And so the narrative that folks walk around with in their heads about a condition is an old one.  Hell, it's antique.  So as the profession has a lock on the narratives that filter down to us folks, we are left with antiquated knowledge that serves as a terrible guide for greater health.  

On the diabetic front, Sardi points out important feature of diabetic drugs--
It is common for diabetics to experience frequent urination.  Elevated blood sugar has diuretic action induces frequent urination which results in loss of nutrients.  Yet replacement of lost nutrients is not the mainstay of diabetic therapy.
I wonder how many diabetics know this.  What is astounding is that physicians are phyto-phobic and mineral phobic when it comes to diabetes.  Sardi explains that supplemental magnesium is critical for diabetics.  
More than 50% of diabetics take dietary supplements, but most are unguided.  [Diabetic Educator 2011]  Even dietitians look at dietary supplements with disdain when it comes to diabetes.  One prominent dietitian says she doesn’t recommend over-the-counter supplements for fear of possible drug contraindications. 
She says: “I’d never advise anyone to take extra magnesium or to use a supplement-level doses of herbal remedies that claim to lower blood sugar.”  [Todays Dietitian Nov 2011]  Yet, as you will learn below, supplemental magnesium is critical for diabetics. 
Phyto-phobic physicians themselves issue caution over dietary supplements interfering with anti-diabetic drugs even though vitamins and minerals are essential for life.  It may be the drugs that are interfering with nutrients. [Advances Clinical Experimental Medicine Nov 2014]
And people wonder why doctors are held in such contempt.  Perhaps they hold your health in contempt.  More importantly, it is vitamins and minerals that are the first line of defense.  This goes for any non-diabetic individuals as well. 
 In development of a list of supplemental nutrients for diabetics, essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamins C and D should be given priority over herbal or other supplements.  While there are many herbal supplements that are touted for sugar control (among them cinnamon, Gymnema sylvestre, and many others), it is important to first utilize essential nutrients (vitamins and minerals) in a daily dietary supplement regimen for diabetics. 
Could it be clearer?  If someone has diabetes, your first line of attack is a daily vitamin C and D supplement.  Commit to this regime for a few weeks first before you look for the long-term benefits from herbs, like cinnamon, to bring under control other symptoms associated with diabetes.

In another study, 382 mg of supplemental magnesium taken over a 4-month period resulted in 50.8% of supplemented patients improving their blood glucose levels compared to just 7.0% taking an inactive placebo.  [Diabetic Metabolism June 2015]
One of the biological actions of metformin, a commonly prescribed anti-diabetic drug, is it raises magnesium levels. [Biology Trace Element Research July 2011]
Magnesium has been proposed as a public health strategy against diabetes.  Diabetics are commonly deficient in magnesium.  Insulin and glucose regulate magnesium and visa versa. 
There is considerable evidence that diligent magnesium supplementation may delay the progression from impaired blood sugar (glucose) regulation to adult-onset diabetes.  [Diabetes Obesity Metabolism Sept 2015]
In one study, just 100 mg increase of supplemental or dietary magnesium was associated with a 16% risk reduction for diabetes.  [Biomedical Environmental Science July 2015]
In one study of 54 diabetic patients, 300 milligrams of supplemental daily magnesium improved blood sugar (glucose) levels. [Medical Journal Islam Republic Iran July 2014]

How many diabetics have ever heard of an iron overload as one of the causes for insulin resistance?  That's what I thought.
An overlooked fact is that iron overload induces insulin resistance, that is, the inability of insulin to get into cells and generate energy. 
So how do you know if you have too much iron?  Get a blood test.  Sardi identifies that test.  It's called a ferritin test.  
There is a blood test that is not part of a regular blood panel that measures iron load in the body.  It is called a ferritin test.  Transferrin is another test that measures iron transport.  Elevated transferrin and ferritin are believed to be underlying causes of high blood sugar (glucose) and insulin resistance. [European Journal Endocrinology Aug 20, 2015]
Very few diabetics are aware of the need to measure iron storage in the body.  Men begin to accumulate iron in their body earlier than females who control iron load by monthly menstruation. 
I wonder if this is why men tend to get Diabetes II at a later age than women do.  
Men tend to have a greater risk to develop diabetes as indicated by a high ferritin level.  [British Journal Nutrition Dec 14, 2014]
Males accumulate 1 milligram of excess iron per day of life after they are fully grown.  By middle age, around age 40 years, males will have double the iron load of an equally-aged female and experience double the risk for diabetes. 
I thought that this was the most interesting point about iron accumulattion.  "Iron from plant foods is absorbed on an as needed basis.  Iron from meat is absorbed whether it is needed or not."  Ouch!

[American Journal Clinical Nutrition June 2015]  High ferritin levels, as determined by a blood test for the amount of iron stored in the body, correlates with the onset of diabetes.  [Advances Biomedical Research March 2015]  Insulin resistance occurs when ferritin (iron storage) levels rise. [Journal Pakistan Medical Assn. Dec 2014; Diabetologia March 2015]  In fact, elevated ferritin levels predict future onset of insulin resistance. [Diabetes Research Clinical Practice Jan 2015; Acta Diabetology April 2015] 
Note that the quotation above says "Iron from meat . . . ," and not "iron from red meat."  So any meat--chicken, beef, pork, etc.

These include dietary fats that enhance fungi/mycotoxin cancer potential; meats and their fungi/ mycotoxin contamination; eggs, cheese, butter, and milk; and many other foodstuffs which of themselves are not carcinogenic but contain fungi/mycotoxins causing them to be carcinogenic. In Part III, the authors clearly point out that "Fungi-Mycotoxins Are the Cause of Breast Cancer." Pointing to Colditz's (1993) article which reviews the epidemiology of breast cancer (in the context of hormonal, hereditary, histologic, and dietary risk factors), they conclude that their published research data will reverse the current helplessness of women fearing breast cancer by providing a "new level of understanding" regarding the etiology and prevention of breast cancer. 

AFLATOXIN MUTATES THE P53 GENE.  

This should raise your eyebrows and cause you to learn more about which foods contain the most aflatoxins.  

Also in Part III, the authors demonstrate that aflatoxin mutates the P53 gene, pointing out that "abnormalities of the p53 gene are reported in more than 50% of malignant tumors" (Livni et al. 1995); these include the lung, breast, and colon. 

FOODS THAT CAN LEAD TO CANCER. 

Chapters 30-48 in Part IV enumerate the foods and drinks that cause breast cancer when contaminated by fungi/mycotoxins. These include alcohol, wine, beer, bread, cereals, corn, meats, milk, butter, most cheeses, chicken, eggs, fats, margarine, sugar, sweet/fatty desserts, and tobacco. The authors show when these foodstuffs produce breast cancer and when they do not.

Part V discusses those vitamins, minerals, and foods that prevent breast cancer: vitamins A, C, D, E, selenium, calcium, zinc, sunlight, fish, vegetables, garlic and onions, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, soy, olive oil, green tea, coffee, chocolate and cocoa, rice, pasta, fruit, fiber, yogurt, and honey. 

Natural antifungals recommended by Sarah Pope, in order of tried and true and reliable, are 1) garlic, 2) Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 3) 24-hour homemade Keifer, 4) Manuka honey, 5) oregano oil, 6) Pau d'Arco, and 7) Boron.  Interesting list.

DOES COFFEE SHRINK THE PINEAL GLAND?

Remember, there are no solutions, only trade-offs.  So let's concede that 60 years of 2 cups of coffee per say does in fact shrink the pineal gland by 20%.  So what?  Does that lead to specific cognitive problems?  Depends on overall lifestyle.  Exercise, even mild, low-impact, and of short duration improves most things immediately. All this article does is raise awareness, and it might not matter to you because the beverage is associated with some of the most memorable social exchanges. But the evidence of lifetime coffee consumption on the volume of the pineal gland is compelling. Calcification of the pineal gland occurs over time with some folks laying the blame squarely on fluoride.  Whereas vitamin D does harden the enamel, so does fluouride.  Try fluouride-fee toothpastes for a couple of years and find out how brittle they can become.  But if you're worried about the calcification of your pineal gland, boron helps to relieve that.

Modern science is not so concerned with supernatural experiences, so research on the pineal gland has mostly centred around melatonin and sleep. Melatonin is the hormone the body uses to regulate the sleep-wake cycle. It is produced by the pineal gland and makes it possible for sleep to occur.

Caffeine, the primary active ingredient in coffee, disrupts the normal function of the brain by effectively tricking the pineal gland into producing less melatonin. The signal to produce melatonin is given by adenosine, and the caffeine molecule blocks the adenosine receptors. Basically, the brain is tricked into thinking sleep is not needed. This is why coffee produces a feeling of wakefulness.

Disrupting the normal balance of a system as sophisticated as the human brain will have consequences. Coffee drinkers have been shown to experience many more sleep problems than people who abstain from the beverage. Previous scientific evidence shows that the smaller the pineal gland, the less melatonin is produced (and there are more sleep problems). But up in till 2018, nobody had studied the link between coffee consumption and the size of the pineal gland.

The Korean study (linked above) found something astonishing. People who had drunk a considerable amount of coffee ( the equivalent of 2 cups a day for 30 years) had pineal glands 20% smaller than those who drank less, or no coffee. The heavy coffee drinkers also experienced more sleeping problems.

Why does coffee shrink the pineal gland? The authors give three possibilities.

Firstly, it may be due to the decrease in melatonin caused by caffeine blocking the adenosine receptors (we already know lower melatonin production is associated with smaller pineal glands). Secondly, another part of the brain, the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus, also has adenosine receptors which are blocked by caffeine. This part of the brain regulates the circadian rhythm (sleep-wake cycle) and when it is disrupted, brain damage can occur. The third way coffee may shrink the third eye is because it contains flavonoids which have shown to decrease melatonin in animal studies.

While the researches focus on sleep quality, there will likely be other consequences of a shrunken pineal gland, If this truly is the seat of the soul then it is something you do not want to mess with! We do not want to speculate too much, because we are concerned with facts, not theories. But it does seem that a population bereft of intuition, imagination and psychic facilities would be easier to control. We already know that Fluoride (found in our toothpaste and sometimes our water) calcifies the pineal gland. If you think this is a conspiracy theory, look it up. So, coffee may be adding to the problem. As we have said, when it comes to spirituality and health, the modern world provides many pitfalls.
