What we're seeing in people even with pretty advanced cirrhosis is that when they cut the carbohydrate intake drastically, their liver doesn't go back to normal, but they are able to generate through stem cells new hepatocytes which are the functional unit of the liver and they're actually able to increase their liver function in some cases back up almost to normal even though they had cirrhosis either caused by alcohol or from too much fruit toast or from some chemical injury.
