Jonathan Luke Wood, born in 1982, is the 9th president of Sacramento State. Education Week ranked him a top 50 scholar in the field of education. I don't know whether the field of education is in deep trouble or the journal, Education Week is.

Luke Wood, is the ninth president of Sacramento State.[2][3] Wood is an American social scientist, author,[4][5] and previously served as the first Black distinguished Professor at San Diego State University. Wood is ranked by Education Week as a top 50 scholar in the field of education.[6] In 2023, Wood was appointed by the state Senate to serve on the California Racial Equity Commission.[7] He is a consistent voice[8][9][10][11] on leadership theory, black male achievement and school suspensions.
He says he wants to eliminate "whiteness" but when Jesse Lee Peterson asks him how he proposes to do that without eliminating white people, he can't answer. He waffles on about "values".
