Butyrate is your main fuel source for the large intestine.  So eat butter.

Your small intestine requires glutamine for its fuel source, for the cells in your small intestine to work properly.

INFLAMMATION
If you have a lot of inflammation in your gut, then the cells lining the gut are not getting the fuel that they need.  From a muscle-building pov, glutamine is not essential.
