MARY TALLEY BOWDEN, MD: Many cancers rely solely on glucose and switching to a ketogenic diet denies them the fuel they need to grow.

Putting your cells into a ketone state means your cells function more efficiently.  So if an all-meat diet sounds too much for you right now, start with a low-carb diet, one in which you eliminate or greatly shrink the amount of high-glycemic carbs, which are like candy for insulin spikes and cancer.  I think what diabetics get wrong is that diabetes is really metabolic cancer.  Framing it this way helps you make better decisions on foods.  You want functional foods, not tasty or pleasure-seeking foods.
