While Sánchez says the situation is under control and that local residents only think his government is doing nothing, the streets of Ceuta are sinking deeper into chaos. Temporary refugee centers are overcrowded, illegal migrants sleep on the streets, steal food from stores, and attack passersby. They often stage mass fights among themselves, and the refugee camps are not safe either.

Just today, police detained an African migrant who raped three migrant girls aged 10 and 11.
