The excess cost of these projects are not designed to provide people with energy. The cost simply turns these politically correct projects into pet projects for the climate change crowd to say, "See. See how efficient (NOT) this renewable is?" And they're not even renewable, a complete misnomer.
Once you include the costs of actually integrating "renewables" into the power grid, wind costs between 7 and 14 times more than fossils. And solar costs between 10 and 44 (!) times more.

On an all-in basis including storage & transmission, the average cost per megawatt-hour for natural gas is $38; nuclear $114; wind $291-504; for solar $413-1,548.
