Duck eggs have a harder shell so they last a lot longer on your counter than chicken eggs.
Ducks lay all through the winter, and they can give you 250 to 350 + eggs in a year, which is more than a chicken.
Making a coop for [ducks] is so much easier than the ones you have to make for chickens. You don't need all these roosting boxes or purchase. They just lay their eggs on the ground in here. So it's a lot simpler.
Ducks are more disease resistant than chickens, and especially if you feed them red pepper flakes that keeps the parasites down and egg production up.
Way more protein in one duck egg than you would in a chicken egg, and the yolk is so rich. As long as you keep clean water and a good feed for them, then their eggs taste exactly like chicken.
Ducks also eat bugs and slugs off of your garden.
Ducks are like less dramatic. They don't fight like chickens do.
Ducks lay eggs for 5+ plus years; that's longer than chickens who slow down at 2 to 3 years.
