Dominican Republicans can't stand her, so it looks like she moved to the US, won in some sketchy election, and uses her position to tell American law enforcement how they should conduct themselves. It's almost like criminal gangs shaming law enforcement for enforcing the law. Huh. Darializa Avila Chevalier, 1993. Ha, ha, ha. Fashions herself as some kind of remnant of the Black Panthers.
And then there's a question mark on her birthdate. What, she can't remember just in case she needs plausible denial in some investigation where she can say, "O, no, that wasn't me. I was born in 1994."

Darializa Avila Chevalier is a doctoral student in Sociology at the CUNY Graduate Center. She is primarily interested in studying the ways Black immigrants from Latin America are impacted by the US criminal system and deportation. Her professional background and community organizing work has largely focused on issues of policing, incarceration, and immigrant detention. She holds a BA from Columbia University.
