Civic nationalism is the idea that foreigners should be allowed to replace us in our own homelands as long as they keep singing our songs and keep speaking our language and keep eating our dishes.  Basically as long as they uphold our democratic values.  In order to understand why this is so wrong just turn it around.  Let's talk about the difference between ethno Confucianism and Civic Confucianism, by which I mean the following.  Imagine 100 million White Americans moving to the region of Beijing and becoming the ethnic majority in that part of China, right?  Should that be all right as long as the white people there are Civic Confucianists, meaning they believe in the law, the rights, and the rules and the laws of Confucius?  They will eat Chinese food, right, and they may be learn to sing a couple of Chinese songs.  Is that all right with Chinese people if we fucking replace you and genocide you as long as we are Civic confucianists?  Do you understand now what the problem is?
