DR. WILLIAM DAVIS: Collagen rebuilds the walls of arteries, especially aorta. Collagen reduces blood pressure, improves arterial health

The FDA says a lot of dopey things.  For instance, a very important protein for our health and youthfulness is collagen.

Where do you get collagen?  The marbling in your beef and pork, the skin on poultry and fish, heart, tongue, brain, stomach, intestine, organ meats.

Why is that?  Well, you get collagen you have smoother skin in the dermal layer.  And ladies are very concerned about their epidermis, the external, but it's the dermal layer that's the primary determinant of skin appearance and health.  So collagen ads dermal collagen.

Collagen when you ingest it adds to joint cartilage because joint cartilage is 70% collagen.

You rebuild the walls of arteries, especially aorta. Collagen reduces blood pressure, improves arterial health.  It has spectacular effects, but the FDA says "But we don't care; it's not essential."
