blue light can penetrate the retina, causing potential and lasting damage to the photoreceptor cells.

Just how harmful is it to use your phone in the dark?  If you often use your phone with the lights off, make sure to watch this video all the way through.

When you turn off the lights, the surroundings become pitch black and only your phone screen remains lit.  At this point, the stark contrast causes your pupils to naturally dilate in order to capture more light.  At this moment, staring at your phone screen undoubtedly exposes your eyes to a double assault of blue light and intense brightness. What's especially worth noting is that blue light can penetrate the retina, causing potential and lasting damage to the photoreceptor cells.  Once these cells are damaged, the loss is irreversible which means your vision could suffer permanent harm. However, the harm doesn't stop there.  Using your phone in the dark also affects your skin.  Blue light silently penetrates the skin barrier disrupting the natural production of collagen and elastin. Over time, not only does pigmentation quietly appear, but the skin's aging process is also accelerated. For the sake of your health, it's time to break this bad habit.
