CASSIE CLARK: We’re told vigilantism is unjust. That we have courts for a reason. But what is that reason if it’s not to protect citizens from violent offenders? Further, if our judicial system fails, whose job is it to protect the innocent?

Back then I looked up that the release was by magistrate judge Teresa Stokes, who had not even passed the bar. 
She was appointed by Black female judge Carla Archie, who has a history of letting violently criminal Black men off with absurdly lenient sentences. She is the "2019 Diversity Champion Award Winner". --Jonatan Pallesen

Meet Moses Early II. Moses boarded a bus in Charlotte on March 6, 2025. Over an hour later, he beat a 64-year-old Navy veteran so badly that it resulted in a broken neck. His victim is now a quadriplegic. Early was indicted on attempted murder charges but was released on an unsecured bond on June 25. The judge? Carla N. Archie. Less than a year later, Early was arrested for assault on a female. He allegedly hit the woman so hard he knocked out her earrings. His bond? $1,500. That’s it. Judges associated with the case? Harry Church and Keith Smith both appear in the documents. We’re told vigilantism is unjust. That we have courts for a reason. But what is that reason if it’s not to protect citizens from violent offenders? Further, if our judicial system fails, whose job is it to protect the innocent?

And when repeat offenders terrorize citizens, who is liable for the destruction? Shouldn’t it be the same judges who let them walk?
