This struck me as funny, funny because it's true.  Nazis have been portrayed as acting like rabid dogs, committing mass violence and mass murder for no reason at all or for just some racial pride.  But the truth from history is the first casualty.  It wasn't just the crippling effects of the Versailles Treaty they were trying to rectify but it seems like they were trying to restore some national dignity after degradation following WWI.
