Eventually, the more I talked to people, the more stories I heard about the terrible side effects that were experienced. I spoke with people who got perforated colons and ended up with sepsis. I knew a woman who lost her husband after his colonoscopy tore his intestines open. She actually won a lawsuit proving malpractice. When I started diving into the research, I saw that colonoscopies didn’t save any lives. The cancer deaths for detected colon cancer were essentially the same if you had one or not.
