WWI, European monarchies fell. Conquered by communist blocks, anyone who was a member of the League of Nations. WWII finished the remaining monarchies whose powers were in name only, but wholly owned and controlled by old colonial elite powers. WWII, also ushered in communist rule of supposedly capitalist countries.

Really these two Wars, I think, were the Mortal blows that may have killed . . . may prove [to be] the Mortal blows of Western Civilization. After that, the two Wars, of course, killed all the Great Western Empires that ruled the entire world. America emerged and Bolshevik Russia emerged, and then the Cold War we exhausted ourselves. And now you take a look at the European countries not a single one of them has a birth rate that will allow it to survive in present form through this century. They're being invaded and they can do nothing virtually nothing about it from the Islamic world and Africa. It's changing the culture and dividing their societies, and I think it all goes back to these terrible mortal wounds, these physical wounds that must have killed 150 million civilian soldiers, the finest of all these nations destroyed in battle and civilians slaughtered in various ways. The Christian West committed suicide.
