Don't make me laugh.  The answer is NO.

The author's name is Professor Emily Oster, a woman who writes about pregnancy and parenthood.  And here she is to tell us to forgive what Fauci, Collins, Scarf-Lady Debra Birx, Scott Gottlieb, your local county health officer in tandem with your governor told us to isolate, to social distance, wear a panty on your face, prevent you from dining out, effectively locking up your elderly grandmother or parent in a convalescent home before killing them.  Yeah, right, Emily, oh, such a pretty Victorian name Emily.

Eugyppius calls her out: Professor Oster is a "lockdown moderate."  Oh, how compromising.  Problem is that she's compromising your health and the nation's economic health.  

I don’t know much about the American pandemic pundits, but I gather that Brown University economist and “parenting guru” Emily Oster is far from the worst of them. Her Twitter timeline suggests she spent the early months of the pandemic terrified about the virus until school closures took their toll on her kids, at which point she repositioned herself as a kind of lockdown moderate, opposing the worst of the hystericist excesses while validating their central premises whenever possible to save face with friends and colleagues.

My unpopular opinion of the day is that I think we may be reaching the limits of fear-based vaccine motivation. And there are downsides to continuing to sow fear among those who are already afraid.

Emily Oster’s latest act of moderation is the suggestion that we forgive and forget all the disastrous policies inflicted on us by terrified wealthy urbanites, clueless technocrats and mad scientist vaccinators since 2020, because, hey, these were just honest mistakes, anybody could’ve messed up like that, it’s all good.

April 2020, with nothing else to do, my family took an enormous number of hikes. We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks.  Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her “SOCIAL DISTANCING!”

These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn’t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn’t know.

The thing is, Emily Oster, that we did know. We’ve studied respiratory virus transmission for years. All the virologists and epidemiologists who aren’t total morons knew your 2020 mask routine was crazy and they just didn’t care. They wanted you to do it anyway, because they thought that if they got you to act paranoid and antisocial enough, your insane behaviour might have some limited effect on case curves. Joke’s on you, and it’s sad you still haven’t realized.

In fact, instead of an amnesty, Emily.  I give you this: 

Never Forget.  Never Forgive.  Hold the Line.  

Letting them off the hook means to surrender to a horde of troglodytes.  Amnesty for lying Fauci?  This is worst than running press coverage for Fauci, Birx, Collins, who with his wife, pranced a televised version of Puff the Magic Dragon, the way that Che Guevara would televise public executions on TV for their families to witness the horror.  You have a poor grasp of history.  Maybe you spend too much time around babies.  Give that up occasionally to a babysitter once and a while.  Our family members have died and instead of demanding justice, or God forbid just a cessation of all the vaccine mandates, here you are telling us to forgive and forget.  What a POS.  You ignore the fact that people lost lives, we lost loved ones, brothers, sisters, cousins, parents, family, dear Emily, and your call for amnesty is the rudest insult.

Tyson Foods issued a vaccine mandate for its employees.  It originally tried to deny people religious accommodations, and originally told them that pro-life beliefs are not real religious beliefs.  They realized they were going to get sued over that and it was going to cause lots of political trouble, so they reversed course on that.  But their way of giving people religious, or medical accommodations, was to constructively terminate them.  Put them on unpaid leave for one year.  So I filed suit in Dyre County, Tennessee.  We served Tyson very quickly and gave them the courtesy of responding before we filed our request for an injunction.  Went through the process of scheduling it through the court.  The court took time out to make sure the schedule worked.  We met our part of the schedule, and we filed a motion for a preliminary injunction on Friday morning, and then Friday at the close of business, Tyson Foods sent notice that they have removed the case to Federal court, even though there's no grounds.  It's a patently frivolous motion to Notice of Removal.  Tyson knew that a federal court would take too long to rule on remanding it back to state court such that it will be past the timeline for employees to get vaccinated.  So they did this knowing that I had had a call with their counsel.  No surprise, a big Federalist Society, the lawyer that represents them, Greg Grisham,

During the first week of September 2021, Robert Barnes, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Cheryl Mass filed a lawsuit against the Food and Drug Administration, the FDA.  

Washington, DC, Sept. 07, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Last week, Children’s Health Defense (CHD) filed suit in Tennessee federal court against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its acting director Janet Woodcock for their deceptive, rushed licensure of Pfizer’s Comirnaty vaccine. CHD argues that the licensure was a classic “bait and switch,” allowing Pfizer, the Administration, the military, and employers to exhort people to take “licensed” vaccines when in fact the vaccines available continue to be the Pfizer-BioNTech Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) vaccines.

The Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission supports the Federation of State Medical Boards’ statement released on July 29, 2021, regarding COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

“Physicians who generate and spread COVID-19 vaccine misinformation or disinformation are risking disciplinary action by state medical boards, including the suspension or revolution of their medical license.  Due to their specialized knowledge and training, licensed physicians possess a high degree of public trust and therefore have a powerful platform in society, whether they recognize it or not.  They also have an ethical and professional responsibility to practice medicine in the best interests of their patients and must share information that is factual, scientifically grounded, and consensus-driven for the betterment of public health. Spreading inaccurate COVID-19 vaccine information contradicts that responsibility threatens to further erode public trust in the medical profession and puts all patients at risk.”

The NCQAC expands this statement to include nurses in Washington State and does not limit this perspective to vaccines but broadly applies this standard to all misinformation regarding COVID-19 treatments and preventive measures such as masking.  Nurses who generate and spread COVID-19 misinformation, or disinformation, erode the public trust in the nursing profession and endangers patients. 

With vaccination mandates by the Governor and others in Washington, the NCQAC will review any complaints received regarding nurses (LPNs, RNs, or ARNPs) granting exemptions to vaccination or masks that are not based in established science or verifiable fact.  A practitioner who grants mask or other exemption without conducting an appropriate prior exam and without a finding of legitimate medical reason supporting such an exemption within the standard of care, maybe subjecting their license to disciplinary action.

The NCQAC bases masking vaccination safety on expert recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).
