Eliminate processed food

Societal level (won't happen):

Remove anti-saturated fat guidelines

Stop subsidising soybean/corn

Ban seed oils from baby formula

Acknowledge 70 years of catastrophic advice

Why it won't happen:

Trillion-dollar food industry built on seed oils. Changing would require restructuring agricultural subsidies, acknowledging systematic poisoning, fighting industry lobbying.

Your health isn't worth trillions in lost profits.

CB1 receptor activation. Seed oils do the same thing. Slower. More insidious. Your brain says: "I'm still hungry." Even though you just ate 1,200 calories. The pharmaceutical industry developed CB1 antagonists for weight loss. They worked brilliantly. People lost significant weight. But the drugs caused depression and suicide. They were pulled. Because blocking CB1 affects mood severely. Your brain uses endocannabinoids for appetite AND mood. So here's a better alternative: Eat fatty steak instead of seed oils. When you eat saturated fat, there's no 2-AG surge. No CB1 activation. No artificial hunger. You eat. You're satisfied. You stop.

1972: Dr. John Yudkin publishes "Pure, White and Deadly." 

His conclusion from decades of research: Sugar, not fat, causes obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. 

His evidence: Comprehensive, compelling, peer-reviewed. 

Response from Ancel Keys and the sugar industry: Destroy him. 

They didn't refute his research. They attacked his character. 

They called him a charlatan. They questioned his credentials. They excluded him from conferences. They prevented publication of his work. 

Keys personally called him a "mountain of nonsense." 

The sugar industry funded research to contradict him. The vegetable oil industry joined the attack (Yudkin also blamed seed oils). 

By 1980: Yudkin was professionally ruined. His career destroyed. His research ignored. 

He died in 1995, his life's work dismissed as fringe pseudoscience. 

 2009: Researchers begin re-examining his work. Conclusion: "Yudkin was right about everything." 

2014: "Pure, White and Deadly" is republished. Modern scientists read it and realise a brilliant researcher was destroyed for telling the truth 40 years early. 

Today: Every major finding Yudkin published in 1972 has been validated by modern research. 

Sugar does cause metabolic disease. He was right. They destroyed him anyway. 

This is what happens to scientists who threaten profitable industries. 

They don't refute you. They destroy you.

Wow. "They don't refute you. They destroy you." Ain't that the truth. When you think people, meaning a group inside an institution are after, you're not paranoid, you're observant and astute. But don't fall back on your qualifications that they're trying to shake from you, or don't fall back on the hubris that you're more talented or just as talented. You very well may be, may be 5x more talented. But a competition is not what they seek. They don't want an argument that is going to "refute" because anyone can refute their argument. Even biased opinions friends and colleagues can refute their arguments as petty. No, what they want is your destruction. So if you're not prepared to go after them and destroy them first, then I would walk. Because if you do absolutely nothing, and let your past and your past character do the talking for you, they'll destroy you. Sama Hoole makes a very astute point.
