Every canned food must have a lining to provide a barrier between the metal can & the food or drink contained within.
This applies to every canned good including canned drinks, every can has a lining.
The US FDA allows Bisphenol in the forms of Bisphenol A, Bisphenol S & Bisphenol F to be used in the manufacture of the lining in canned foods & beverages.
BPA, BPS & BPF are known endocrine disruptors that mimic estrogen in ways that can activate or block estrogenic pathways, causing cancer & many other metabolic diseases.
All 3 forms of Bisphenols are classified as hazardous chemicals & are banned for use in canned food & beverage products in Europe. The US FDA still states all forms of Bisphenols are safe & allows its use in the linings of all canned products.
BPA, BPS & BPF all breakdown in the lining & leach into every food & beverage within the can. Foods & beverages that are acidic result in even more rapid breakdown of Bisphenols.
The Bisphenols Of BPA, BPS & BPF All Cause The Following Harmful Effects:
Endocrine disruption: Bisphenols mimic &/or block hormones, which disrupts the body's normal functioning. This affects the reproductive system, mammary glands, metabolism & cognitive function.
Developmental & health problems: Bisphenols cause developmental & health problems in children, including learning & behavior conditions & early puberty in girls. Diabetes, obesity, hypertension & heart disease in adults.
Cancer: Bisphenols cause the development of various cancers, including breast, prostate, ovarian, cervical & lung.
Neurodevelopmental diseases: Bisphenols have been linked to an increase of neurodevelopmental diseases, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Respiratory issues: Bisphenols cause respiratory irritation & may affect normal respiratory function.
Eye damage: Bisphenols can cause serious eye damage.
Allergic skin reactions: Bisphenols cause allergic skin reactions.
BPA, BPS & BPF are released into the environment at any stage of a product's life cycle, from production to consumption to disposal.
Alternatives To Bisphenol Lined Products:
Avoid canned food & use fresh whole foods for cooking.
Buy shelf stable foods that are safely stored in glass jars & tetra packs, which are both free of Bisphenols.
Use glass, ceramic & steel beverage containers which have no chemical linings.
