The reason why the South fought the Civil War was because the North had Invaded the South and because the South wanted to defend the “sublime moral principle of states rights . . ."

And we object to judging the South on slavery alone, when there was so much good about the South as well.  And those good things are what soldiers fought and died for.

You mean you want to pin it on Southern Democrats and exonerate America that way.
