9:00. Slow, steady degradation of the economics of growing cattle in one of the most brilliant pieces of land on the planet to grow vast amounts of cattle. It makes no sense whatsoever that we can't grow cattle properly. And our herds are so small and everything else. At the same time, you target cattle because they have the slowest regeneration cycle, right? That it's this they have the longest gestation period. They only produce one animal at a time. The heifer only produces one animal, so it's 50% that it's going to be male or female. And then it takes 2 years to grow another heifer to expand your herd. So the whole process replacement on the herds itself is 3 years. And the lost meat from the slaughtered heifer takes 5 years. I did this math during COVID. I wrote an entire article explaining all this and going through it and I compared cattle to sheep, chickens, goats, pigs, and showed you the replacement time period.
Chickens are easy. It takes 20 weeks to replace a chicken. You slaughter a chick laying a hen today, it takes 3 weeks to just eat the egg and 16 weeks to get her to laying eggs. Easy, right? Takes 16 weeks to grow the rooster up at most. They're usually slaughtered, right, at 8 to 9 weeks so you can replace chickens quickly.
