DHS Mark Mullin Voted "NO" on Ending Welfare for Refugees [Jan. 30, 2026], then Was Confirmed as DHS Secretary on March 23, 2026. Huh.

This isn't contradiction.  This is straight up sabotage by Department of Homeland Security, Mark Mullin and his cartel.

He can’t sell mass interior enforcement to a coalition that funds cheap labor (legal and illegal aliens). So you get targeted enforcement and a “Worst of the worst” strategy. Whose side is Mullin on?

Choosing illegal aliens over American citizens as the Secretary of Homeland Security is a new one on me!!!!! 

The vote was held in January 2026.  Markwayne Mullin was confirmed as DHS Secretary in March 2026.

January 30, 2026 (Senate vote on Rand Paul’s amendment to strip ~$5.1 billion in refugee/entrant assistance funding from a government funding package).  The Senate rejected the amendment 32–67. All 32 “yes” votes were Republicans; 20 Republicans voted “no,” and all Democrats opposed it. The amendment (from Sen.
