restrictions breed opportunities if you are even halfway prepared for them. ESPO has been a 15 year project in the making ... now it's the backbone of a different Russian energy architecture.

This is why the bridge across the Amur River is so important.
Opening up Russian/Chinese cross border trade along the pipeline route makes expanding the oil logistics that much easier.

Shipments of Russia's ESPO grade oil from the Far Eastern port reached an all-time high of 925,000 barrels per day (bpd) in December, 85% of which is headed to China, the outlet said, citing energy analytics firm Kpler. Industry experts attributed the surge in exports of this type of crude to increased railway supplies.

ESPO stands for Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean Oil Pipeline.
