"The number of cases reported went up exponentially, because THE NUMBER OF TESTS WENT UP EXPONENTIALLY."

I don't know much about Kary Banks Mullis other than to say that I like his sincerity and scientific intellect from the interviews that I have seen on him.  This one you will love, too, I hope.  Gary Nulls holds a 90-minute interview with Mullis.  The first clip is only 22 minutes and contains a lot of key and relevant points of reference on testing, on Fauci, and on fraud within the scientific community.  For this reason, this interview is worth gold.  He explains why it is easier for him to come out and talk about what a fraud the AIDS testing was, and he warned, too, that the PCR test, a technique which he designed, is a poor diagnostic test.  The reason why the cases have gone up is that these PCR tests are now ubiquitous.  So I love this.  Mullis calls Fauci a fraud and an idiot.  Mullis's credentials are impeccable.

Wikipedia opens with this on Mullis

Kary Banks Mullis (December 28, 1944 – August 7, 2019) was an American biochemist. In recognition of his invention of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique, he shared the 1993 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Michael Smith and was awarded the Japan Prize in the same year.

Here is the full interview.
